The scholarship system existing in the US is one of the most extensive and complete in the world. To apply for an academic scholarship, university centers normally require an average grade in the last three courses equal to or greater than 6.5 out of 10.
The level of English required by university centers is a medium-high level. Host schools require 61 points on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) tests, the equivalent of a B2 level on the CEFR scale.
The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is required by almost all 4-year universities, although it is not usually mandatory in 2-year Community or Junior Colleges that offer intermediate degrees. It is a test that evaluates knowledge in mathematics and also in the English language. However, it is still advisable to have it in a 2-year center, since if a student wants to opt for a full degree University before having completed the intermediate degree in one of these minor centers, the SAT will be required at the time to request the transfer. Universities compete in the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and CCCAA sports leagues.
